TIME OUT DEFINITION
“Time-out may be called by any competitor or groom during a
class by attracting the attention of the judge or ring steward by calling
‘time out’. The judge or steward may call time-out themselves if they
see a reason to do so, and the time-out will be allocated to the relevant
horse. Time out may be required to adjust a piece of tack, loose a tail or pick
up a thrown shoe – for example. Once this is acknowledged, the time-out
will begin and it may not exceed five minutes per horse per class. Only one
time-out may be called per competitor per class. Full details are to be found
in USA Equestrian General Rules, Article 312”
